We are pleased to share the report from Byfield to which Jessica Crow has contributed. A useful contribution to the debate on arbitration.
For those attending hashtag#ParisArbitrationWeek this week, arbitration’s star may never have seemed higher – but our latest research highlights how it is increasingly being judged beyond its own circles, and not always on its own terms.
This new report, Who Speaks for Arbitration, asks a simple question: if arbitration plays such a significant role in the global economy, who is responsible for explaining it to the wider world?
Drawing on conversations with leading experts from across the arbitration community, the report finds that while arbitration plays a critical role in global trade and investment, its reputation is often shaped by a small number of high-profile cases, leaving it vulnerable to misunderstanding and criticism.
At a time of growing political and public scrutiny, the conclusion is clear: arbitration must do more to explain its value, engage wider audiences and take a more proactive, collective approach to communications.

These are the conversations that don’t always make it onto the main stage - but probably should.
A strong panel, an engaged room, and a format that delivered exactly what it promised.
